PGI OPDs to remain closed today

Chandigarh: All OPDs in PGIMER will remain closed on March 21 on account of Holi,  a gazetted holiday. Emergency services will function as usual, said a spokesperson of PGIMER.

Punjab CM calls for celebration of Holi

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has greeted the people on the occasion of Holi, with a call for celebrating the traditional Indian festival with the colours of unity, tolerance, brotherhood and compassion. In a message on the eve of Holi, the Chief Minister exhorted the people to celebrate the festival of love in a spirit of harmony, brotherhood and amity.  

Hookah bars banned in Mohali

Mohali: Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra has banned operations of Hookah Bars in all areas under the jurisdiction of the district. She stated that it has come to her notice that some Hookah Bars are operating illegally in the district and they are causing serious harm to our residents as the Hookah contains tobacco, harmful chemicals etc. Keeping in mind the health of residents, the Deputy Commissioner has banned all Hookah bars in the jurisdiction of the district. These orders would remain in force till May 18, 2019.

 

Himachal Guv, CM felicitate people on Holi

Shimla: Himachal Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur have felicitated the people of the state on the occasion of Holi festival. Devvrat said, Holi celebrates different hues of the country's cultural mosaic with all its vibrant colours. He hoped that the festival brings spirit of oneness amongst the people. In his message, the Chief Minister said the colours of Holi are a symbol of our diverse and multi-cultural heritage which reinforces the message of unity in diversity and helps in promoting equality amongst all human beings.

Punjab & Sindh Bank organises Sports Day

Karnal: Punjab & Sindh Bank on Thursday organised Sports Day at Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Karnal under the scheme "PSB Aao Khele".  For the bank employees games like Cricket, Shot Put, musical Chair etc were held. Top officials of the bank S.P Shrivastava, B.L. Soni,  Luqman Zaidi, amongst others were present on the occasion.
