1,500 cobblers in Hry to get loan of 50K each

Chandigarh:  Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu on Monday said that 1500 cobblers will be given interest free loan of Rs 50,000 each.  Interest on loan will be borne by the State Government, which will be about Rs 60 lakh annually, the Minister said while adding that the Finance Department has approved a scheme on the directions of the Chief Minister Manohar Lal.  Capt. Abhimanyu said that under this scheme, the National Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation will provide loan of Rs 50,000 each to selected persons in the state to establish their 'khokhas', which they will have to return in three years. This loan will be given to only those cobblers, whose annual income is less than Rs three lakh annually, has not taken benefit of such a scheme previously and who is not defaulter in case of loan, he said. 

Rs 3 lakh grant to Punjab Sangeet Natak Akademi.

Chandigarh: Punjab Cooperation and Jails Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Monday said that the singers of modern era can derive inspiration from the life of folk singer Amarjit Gurdaspuri and further contribute in enriching Punjab’s culture and traditions. “The singer’s unique achievements in Punjabi singing scenario are acting as a guiding light for scores of people,” he said during an event organized by the Punjab Sangeet Natak Akademi while honouring famous folk singer Amarjit Gurdaspuri. The Minister also announced Rs three lakh grant to Punjab Sangeet Natak Akademi.

HP Gov inaugurates college’s auditorium

Rohtak: Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat on Monday inaugurated the newly constructed auditorium of Lal Nath Hindu College at Rohtak. Addressing the students, he said that the basic purpose of education is to provide good education, good health and cultural values amongst the students. He said that concept of patriotism, service to nation, cultural values should also be included while providing modern education in educational institutions. He said that the College has produced international level wrestling sportspersons both in men and women category, and also in other sports.

Hp ACS stresses on strengthening of BCs

Shimla: The state level co-ordination committee (SLCC) meeting on non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) for the state of Himachal Pradesh was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Anil Khachi. The meeting was convened by Regional Director of Reserve Bank of India for Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Rachna Dixit. Khachi emphasized on strengthening the network of banking correspondence (BCs) and enhancing their services in rural areas of the State.
