BOI Chandigarh organises blood camp

Chandigarh:Bank of India celebrates nationalisation day by organising a blood camp at their Zonal Office Building in Sector 31, Chandigarh, which was presided over by their Zonal Manager Pukhraj Pangriya and Deputy Zonal Manager Ashok Goyal & R K Mahajan in the presence of  Officer's Association secretary Harmeet Singh Gujral & Member of the association Manish Gupta were also present..

Bus Port in Sonipat soon

Chandigarh: A Bus Port will soon come up in Sonipat as Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has approved a proposal to allot an institutional plot measuring 8.86 acres in Sector-7, Sonipat at the rate of Rs 21,600 per square meter. Spokesperson said that the Bus Port at Sonipat is the first-of-its Kind project. The Chief Minister has also approved the proposal regarding expansion of existing Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET) Murthal, Sonipat.

Yadav gets additional charge as UT Sports secy

Chandigarh: Union Territory, Chandigarh, Administrator VP Singh Badnore has assigned the charge of the post of Chandigarh Administration’ Sports secretary to IAS officer Kamal Kishor Yadav in addition to his own duties, with immediate effect, relieving Jitender Yadav and Harish Nayar (Link Officer) of the charge, till further orders. Yadav is currently the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, commissioner.

Cheema appointed Sangha as his political advisor

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) senior leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema on Friday appointed Navdeep Singh Sangha as his political advisor with immediate effect. Sangha is party’s spokesman and Moga halka president.

‘Guddiyan Patole’ at Punjab Kala Bhawan

Chandigarh: Punjab Kala Parishad on Friday organized an exhibition based on handicrafts titled ‘Guddiyan Patole’. The products were the creation of Dr Davinder Kaur Dhatt. The exhibition saw inauguration by Punjab Kala Parishad chairman Dr Surjit Patar who said that this folk tradition was once an inseparable part of our rural culture at one point of time and it is high time that we keep this art form, a reminiscent of our golden era gone by, alive.

Chandigarh: Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Badal on Friday announced that Mohali will start new session of its Medical College from the next year and all the financial and budgetary formality has been accomplished in this regard. Manpreet was addressing the medical fraternity of the region while inaugurating a project worth Rs 25 crores - Medicos Centre at Sector 22.

Blood donation camp at PGI on Jul 20

Chandigarh: Thalassaemic Children Welfare Association (Regd) Chandigarh has decided to organize eight blood donation camps at PGI Chandigarh and GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh.  So far, five camps had already been organized this year till date and 1669 units of blood had been collected at an average of 333 units per camp and deposited in the respective Blood Banks.

Chandigarh: A LPG tanker travelling towards Hoshiarpur in Punjab after filling up LPG from Indian Oil’s LPG Bottling plant in Loni, Ghaziabad, overturned near Ambala on Thursday. Immediately after receiving the news of the accident, Indian Oil General Manager Ravi Suresh Sharma, the in-charge of Ambala terminal, constituted a five-member quick response team which reached the site promptly.

Chandigarh: Swaraj India on Friday maintained that it has completed all the organizational requirements for Haryana Vidhan Sabha elections, and the first list of candidates would be declared on July 23 after following due process through various committees. Swaraj India’s national spokesperson Anupam that the party’s apex decision making body, The Presidium, has already constituted a 34-member ‘Haryana Mission Team’ to take appropriate decisions and manage election campaign which comprises of duly elected 15 members of the State committee, as also some members of the National Committee apart from a few others with Yogendra Yadav as convener.

New academic block inaugurated

Chandigarh: A new academic block of Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45 B, Chandigarh, was inaugurated on Thursday by  Dev Samaj College Managing Committee’s chairman Nirmal Singh Dhillon who said that the new building will not only facilitate the gigantic leap in infrastructural development but also take the College to its zenith and will make it a place of learning for ages to come.
