Tech Fest at SBPS

A computer science exhibition ‘tech Fest’ was organised at Sarla Birla Public School on August 31 to showcase the tools and projects developed by the students. The students have developed various softwares on mobile games, Q Basic programmes, Python programmes, banking management and simple calculator. They also displayed computer networking, shortcut keys tree and a PPT of Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan. The students worked on robotics, made a replica of mobile games and also prepared some animations and PowerPoint presentations. School Head Personnel and admin Pradip Varma emphasised on the importance of learning modern techniques to keep pace with the changing world. Principal Paramjit Kaur said that such demonstration helps the students to showcase their potential more effectively and efficiently.

146 cases settled

Over 140 pending legal cases of different nature in various courts were disposed of in  lok adalat held at Civil Court, Garhwa premises, on Saturday. Garhwa district legal services authority secretary Sindhu Nath Lamaye said as many as 146 cases were disposed in a single day in the district. Besides this Rs. 5,61,500 revenue recovered in the Lok Adalat. The cases were of different categories, including under Motor Vehicle Act, civil cases, criminal cases (compoundable), bank cases, electricity cases. Most the cases were disposed of on the basis of mutual consent of parties. As many as 167 Criminal cases (compoundable) were decided by the four constituted benches.

DAV students Shine

Students of the quiz team of DAV Public School Hazaribagh secured the second position at the Silver Jubilee Commemorative Young Thinkers’ Conclave 2019 held at Mayo College Girls’ School Ajmer from August 27 to August 29. The participants were Siddharth, Yash Raj and Rainy Kaushal. In the Hindi debate Sakshi, Shourya and  Asmita Priyam stood third. Shourya Pratap and Sakshi Mishra were declared as the Best Speaker and the Best Interjector respectively in the Hindi debate competition. Congratulating the students Principal Ashok Kumar said that it is a proud moment for the students to participate in such a mega event with 27 schools from all over the country. The quiz master was the internationally acclaimed theatre expert and eminent scholar Pranab Mukherjee.

Prize distribution at OPS

Prizes for the inter house poem recitation and debate competition in Hindi and English was held at Oxford Public School on August 31. Principal Suraj Sharma gave the students gold, silver and bronze medals and certificates for their performance. Sharma also urged the students to participate in such competitions participation with full preparation and zeal which will lead them to success.

Entrepreneurs, ecosystem builder awards

National Entrepreneurship Awards (NEA) 2019 is an initiative of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to recognise and honour first generation entrepreneurs and ecosystem builders for their outstanding contribution to entrepreneurship development. 45 awards will be given to entrepreneurs upto 40 years across sectors, geographies and socio- economic background through a nomination process. 39 awards will under the enterprise awards category while six will be ecosystem builder awards. Winners will receive a trophy, certificate.

Enterprise or individuals will get a cash price of Rs 5 lakh while organisations or institutes will get Rs 10 lakh. XLRI has been appointed as the regional partner and the last date for filing nomination is September 10.
