Selection trials for kabaddi team on Nov 18
Chandigarh: The Indian team, which will participate in the International Kabaddi Tournament 2019, will be selected at the Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sports Stadium, Jalandhar on November 18. A spokesperson of the Sports Department on Saturday said that the International Kabaddi Tournament 2019 will be dedicated to 550th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the selection trials for Indian team will be held on November 18th morning. First of all, players have to register at 8 am. The players should bring with them 2 passport size photographs and documents showing proof of Indian citizenship. The selection committee for the team has been constituted under the chairmanship of Vice President of Punjab Kabaddi Association Tejinder Singh Midhukhera. According to the spokesman, a 15-day coaching camp will also be held for the selected players.

Shimla: On the second day of All India Civil Services Kabaddi competition being organised here by the HP Secretariat Services Sports Control Board, the Central Civil Secretariat beat Uttar Pradesh, NCT Delhi beat Tamilnadu, Himachal Secretariat beat Orisha, Karnataka beat Gujarat, Central Civil Secretariat beat Puducherry, Maharashtra beat Andhra Pradesh and RSB Chennai defeated RSB Indore.

varsity launches drive against drugs menace
Solan: Solan-based Shoolini University launched a month-long campaign against drugs menace with Superintendent of Police Madhusudan administering an oath to students and staff against use of drugs and other intoxicants. The launch was marked with special sessions by counsellors and psychologists, medical professionals giving tips, nukkad natak and yoga sessions. The month-long mass campaign against drug menace has been launched by the Himachal Pradesh government across the state. Addressing students, the SP said there has to be zero tolerance against drugs and reiterated the government’s stand that strict action would be taken against those indulging in peddling of drugs and abuse of drugs.
