Capacity of Palwal Sugar Mill to be increased

Chandigarh: Haryana Cooperation Minister Banwari Lal said, the capacity of Cooperative Sugar Mill, Palwal will be increased in two phases. Its capacity has already been increased from 1600 to 1900 TCD and in the next phase, it will be increased from 1900 TCD to 2200 TCD, he said after the inauguration of the crushing session of the Palwal Cooperative Sugarmills for the year 2019-20 in Palwal. Farmers, employees and officers works as a link in the functioning of the sugarmill and the most prominent link is the farmers. Keeping this in view, directions have been given to the mill management that farmers should not face any difficulty, he said.  He urged the farmers to bring their sugarcane properly cleaned in the mill.

 

DPR for Sugarcane Research Institute in a week

Chandigarh:  “The detailed project report in respect of setting up of Sugarcane Research Institute at Kalanaur (Gurdaspur) would be prepared within a week,” said Punjab Cooperation & Jails Minister, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa while presiding over a meeting held in the Markfed office. A meeting has been convened to finalize the road map for setting up of dedicated Sugarcane Research Institute at Kalanaur (Gurdaspur). The proposal has been mooted in order to increase the productivity, per acre yield and sugar recovery in the sugarcane crop so as to benefit the sugarcane farmers as well as sugar mills in the state, he added.

 

National Livestock Championship, Expo-2020 in feb

Chandigarh: The National Livestock Championship Championship and Expo-2020' would be organised by the Punjab Government from February 6 to 8 next year at Batala, said Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa.  He said, this is an annual event to promote livestock farming and make it a profitable business. During this event livestock farmers would share their success stories and the experts would provide latest information on this profession. During the three days national level livestock championship, livestock breeding and milching competitions would be held. In addition competition among various breeds of horses, buffaloes, cows, sheep, goats, dogs and chickens would also be held and attractive prizes would be given to the owners of the winning animals, he added.

 

Punjab Finance Dept. releases Rs 566 cr

Chandigarh: On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the Finance Department has released Rs 565.99 crores to the departments of Rural Development, Revenue, Cooperation, Tourism, Soil & Water Conservation besides Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIDB). A spokesperson said, funds to the tune of Rs 305.81 crore and Rs 80.23 crore had been released to Rural Development Department on account of second instalment of basic grant and the performance grant for the fiscal 2016-17 respectively under 14th Finance Commission Grant. Likewise, the Finance Department also released a sum of Rs 100.80 crore to PIDB for buyback of bonds.

 

Bank of India holds Har Ghar Dastak Camp

Chandigarh: Bank of India, Chandigarh Zone had taken a new initiative Har Ghar Dastak campaign, which concluded here at a function.  During the campaign period, branches of Bank of India, spread over 3 states, including Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh directly contacted residents by visiting their homes and successfully fulfilled their banking requirements be it SME Loans, Retail Loans or Agriculture Loans. A customer meet program was organized at Bank’s Zonal Office building in Sector 31 here. MD Atrey, General Manager from Head Office and Pukhraj Pangriya, Zonal Manager Chandigarh Zone, branch heads of various branches and more than 70 customers were present. 

 

 

 

Haryana Minister to preside over grievances committee meet

 

Chandigarh: Haryana Cooperation, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Banwari Lal will preside over the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee at Palwal on December 20. A spokesman said, the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee will begin on December 20 at 11 am in the Mahatma Gandhi Community Center and Panchayat Bhawan campus.

 

Inspection held at Hafed Oil Mill

 

Chandigarh: Chairman, Hafed, Subhash Katyal inspected Hafed Oil Mill Rewari and also carried out herbal plantations. Katyal, after conducting an inspection in the Hafed Sales and Marketing Department, said that as per the directions of the Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Hafed should work in the direction of generating highest income, and all out efforts should be made for this purpose. He directed to achieve the sale target of Rs 3 crore of HAFED products in Rewari and increased it to 5 crore in the next financial year. District Manager and HAFED Oil General Manager assured to achieve the target.

Urban Transformation Summit held

 

Chandigarh: “The Chandigarh Smart City Ltd. has a focus on integrated development of the urban areas by keeping the restoration work of city heritage, making the city vibrant and clean, strengthening the infrastructure, and improving the service delivery. The CSCL has a vision to transform the urban development of the city with better infrastructure and improved digital services,” said KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh-cum-CEO, Chandigarh Smart City Ltd. during the “Urban Transformation Summit-Chandigarh” held here.  The one-day event organised by Elets Technomedia Pvt. Ltd. in association with Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and Chandigarh Smart City Ltd. had interactive sessions designed to put the spotlight on the emerging ideas in urban transformation and the use of information and communication technologies for urban development in the city.

 

 

Two proclaimed offenders arrested in Haryana

 

Chandigarh: Haryana Police has arrested two persons who were declared proclaimed offenders by the Court in separate cases from Rohtak district. Both accused were absconding and evading the arrest for a long time. A spokesman said, in a first case, Police has arrested Jaipal, a resident of Sector-10A, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, who was declared proclaimed offender by the Court in year 2017. Another proclaimed offender Bunty, a resident of Garhi Bohar presently residing at Tilak Nagar Rohtak, was arrested by the Police during a raid. A case relating to Arms Act was registered against him in year 2012. After coming out on bail in the said case, the accused absconded and did not appear in the Court, which declared him proclaimed offender in 2013.

 

Marathon cum Cycle Tour from Delhi to Chd concluded

 

Chandigarh: Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, the State Legal Services Authority, UT Chandigarh organized the last leg of marathon/relay walk cum cycle tour to celebrate 70th anniversary of adoption of Indian Constitution  and for creating awareness about the fundamental duties among the citizens. A team of about 6 advocates from Delhi had started on December 7 from Delhi and after passing through Haryana and Punjab, the participants entered Chandigarh from Zirakpur.  On reaching Chandigarh, they were joined by advocates practicing at Chandigarh, Para Legal Volunteers, students and other sports enthusiast.  The marathon here was flagged off by  Mr. Justice Jaswant Singh, Executive Chairman, State Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh from Sukhna Lake and concluded at ‘Open Hand Monument, Capitol Complex.
