BJD holds booth meeting in Joda

Champua: Keeping in view the coming elections, the BJD has started booth-wise meetings in the Champua Assembly constituency. On Friday, party Joda block SC Cell president Samjaya Patra organised a meeting to finalise booth-wise committees of 13 wards in Bhuyanroida GP. Others who assisted Patra were Tulasi Bobnga, ex-Sarpanch, and Pradeep Mahanta, block observer. Around 500 party supporters we're present.

Training for food processing held in JSpur

Jagatsinghpur: The MSME Department in association with the ASSOCHAM and the UCO Bank organised a training programme on ‘Strengthening MSME eco-system on food processing’ here on Thursday. Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries Joint Secretary Nikunja Kishor Dhal said Jagatsinghpur district has enough potentiality to start a food processing unit. He urged young entrepreneurs and unemployed youths to set up food processing units and assured them that the MSME Department would support them. UCO Bank Nodal Manager HK Arora, LDM Anil Kumar Patnaik also spoke.

Kandhamal book fair inaugurated 

Phulbani: Kandhamal Collector Dr Brunda D inaugurated the 22nd book fair in presence Additional Relief Commissioner Mihir Chand Mallick, Prof Dasarathi Bhuyan, Dr Madhusudan Mahapatra and Dr Nalini Kumar Panigrahi here on Friday. Kishore Pattnaik gave the welcome address. Many publishing houses from across the State are participating in the fair, which will continue till February. Among others, district Lekhaka Sammukhya president Rabindranath Mishra and secretary Banabihari Nanda were present.

NSpur Sishu Mandir athletic meet ends

Narasinghpur: The Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Narasinghpur’s 17th annual athletic meet concluded here on Saturday. School secretary Bijay Kumar Panda had earlier inaugurated the meet. School Headmistress Priyambada Debi, Swarnalata Maharana, Jharana Biswal, Irasish Das, Monalisha Mishra, Ranjit Kumar Sahu, Deepanjali Mahakud, Adyashree Mahapatra, Monalisha Satpathy and Prabasini Panda coordinated the programme.

UAIL holds multispecialty health camp

Rayagada: The Utkal Alumina organised a multispecialty health camp at Nuagaon Community Center here recently. Kashipur BDO Bedabar Pradhan inaugurated the camp in presence of company AVP (Admin, CSR and Land) Rakesh Mishra, Mines VP BRK Padhi, CSR DGM Siba Sankar Mahapatra, Sukanta Mahapatra and Binod Pujari. A total of 512 patients from 16 mines periphery villages were examined by specialists Dr Ananta Charan Nayak, Dr MM Purohit and Dr Arun Kumar Tudu on different ailments. Company CSR staffs coordinated the camp.

JK gets best paper mill award

Rayagada: The JK Paper Mills has bagged the "IPMA Paper Mill of the Year 2017-18" award of the Indian Paper Manufacturers Association (IPMA) for setting an example in the areas of productivity, quality, environmental consciousness, research and development, human resource development besides striving to attain global competitiveness. The award was presented on the IPMA’s 19th Annual General Meeting in Delhi by Union Minister of Commerce Suresh Prabhu. JK Paper Executive VP (Works) PK Suri received the award.

Hamleys opens 2nd store in BBSR

Bhubaneswar: The London toy shop Hamleys launched its second store in Bhubaneswar at Esplanade One Mall recently, two months after the launch of its first store. Canara Robeco MF launches small cap fund

Bhubaneswar: Canara Robeco Asset Management Company Limited has announced launch of new fund offer (NFO) for Canara Robeco Small Cap Fund, an open-ended scheme, which aims to invest in stocks of small-cap companies that are likely to have the potential to generate higher returns than most other equity classes over a longer period of time.
