PGIMER held prog on public health emergency

Chandigarh: Jagat Ram, Director PGIMER said, “There is a need to build a robust and proactive disaster management system integrated with advanced technology and facilities to provide more effective medical assistance during emergencies and contribute to alleviating suffering and saving more lives.” He said this while speaking at the Capacity Building Program on Public Health Emergency & Hospital Preparedness for Health Emergencies. The six-day long programme which started on  March 11 in PGIMMER  encompassed in-depth and analytical discussions on national disaster management act, steps and format of hospital disaster preparedness plan, logistics planning, monitoring & coordination mechanism, management of legal, ethical and psychological issues as well as management of complex disaster situations etc.

Home Credit partners with Chandigarh Police

Chandigarh:  Home Credit India Finance Pvt. Ltd, rolled out a new initiative Jagruk aimed to provide latest trends and skills related to cyber-frauds specifically in finance industry. The initiative seeks to assist the Police force by sharing best practices with officials investigating complex cases pertaining to financial frauds and cybercrime. Home Credit India conducts knowledge sharing sessions with police officials across different levels on challenges, issues and measures relating to prevention of cybercrime, cyber bullying, online and financial frauds. These sessions highlight current trends through case studies and reference materials.

Cardless ATM withdrawals with YONO Cash

Chandigarh: YONO SBI – India’s first integrated Omni-channel banking & lifestyle platform – launched ‘YONO Cash’ for card less withdrawal of cash at over 16,500 SBI ATMs across the country. The launch of YONO Cash makes SBI the first bank to offer this service in the industry. In Chandigarh, Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh, CGM of SBI Chandigarh Circle launched YONO Cash and inaugurated e-Corner at Sector-20, Panchkula in the presence of the dignitaries of the area and prominent customers of the bank.

Mohali campus of Allen Career Institute unveiled

Mohali: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, spiritual leader and founder Art of Living, visited the HUDA ground at Sector-5, Panchkula and explained the gathering about the importance of the Vigyaan Bhairav Camp. He said that Vigyaan Bhairav is a treatise in which Lord Shiva gave a dialogue to Parvati exhibiting the technique of 112 types of meditations. He symbolically inaugurated the Mohali campus of Allen Career Institute from the Dias by unveiling the image of campus in public.

Awareness seminar on Swine Flu organized

Mohali: Aryans Institute of Nursing (AIN), Rajpura organized an awareness seminar on swine flu at its campus. The speakers discussed about the causes, symptoms, preventive measures and cures of Swine Flu. Dr. Sarabjit Singh, MD Medicine, Simrita Nursing Home, Rajpura said, Swine flu is a highly contagious respiratory disease in pigs caused by one of several swine influenza A viruses which can be transmitted to humans via contact with infected pigs or environments contaminated with swine influenza viruses. He said like Seasonal Flu, Swine Flu can vary in intensity from mild to severe. The Swine Flu can cause high fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, chills, fatigue,   vomiting, and diarrhea, he added.

Architect Madhav Raman co-founder of Anagram Architects, Delhi Nominated for Aga Khan Award 2010 and recipient of some of the most prestigious awards in the architectural industry was the keynote speaker and spoke in detail about his key projects and shared his source of inspiration for those projects.
