Behera takes over as THDCIL Finance dir
Dehradun: J Behera has recently taken over the charge of director (Finance) of THDC India Limited (THDCIL). He has vast experience of about 29 years in the field of fiscal management. Behera had joined THDCIL as assistant account officer in 1990. Over these years he has rendered his services in various capacities in the corporation. Prior to assuming the charge of director (Finance), Behera was the chief finance officer and general manager (Finance) in THDCIL.
National debate held at Cambrian Hall
Dehradun: Cambrian Hall organised the Frank Anthony Memorial All-India Inter-School Debate Championship 2019 Category II - Selection Stage (Stage II) - Pool F1 in the school auditorium. Nine schools- Wynberg Allen School- Mussoorie, Saint Joseph’s Academy-Dehradun, Saint Kabir’s Residential and Day School, Hisar, Scottish High International School- Gurugram, Saint Stephen’s School- Chandigarh, Christ King Convent School- Kapurthala, Saint Joseph’s Convent School- Jalandhar, Shri Ram Centennial School- Dehradun and Ann Mary School- Dehradun participated in the debate. The topic given for the debate was “A democracy can only be possible if there is a responsible Press”.
Two-day consultative process ends at OBC
Dehradun: The first stage of the bottom-up consultative process concluded at the Oriental Bank of Commerce, Dehradun circle office on Monday. General manager Harish Kumar Banga and deputy GM Arpana Sinha addressed the meeting. The meet focused on the ways and means to increase credit to various sectors of the economy, enhance use of technology to bring about innovation and enable big data analytics, and make banking citizen-centric as well as more responsive to the needs and aspirations of senior citizens, farmers, small industrialists, entrepreneurs, youth, students and women.
UBI holds meet of all branches in State
Dehradun: The Union Bank of India held a meeting of all its managers of branches across Uttarakhand. The bank’s general manager, central office-Mumbai, Sanjay Sharma presided over the meeting. During the consultative meeting, the business opportunities available for the branches were discussed and the performance of branches in the past five years was deliberated upon. Sharma and Dehradun region chief Ajay Srivastav to popularise various Central Government schemes. The customers should also be informed about the cuts in interest rates by the bank.
