HC to get new Chief Justice
Justice Ravi Ranjan of the Punjab and Haryana High Court has been recommended for appointment as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court. The Jharkhand High Court is currently functioning with Justice Harish Chandra Mishra as its acting Chief Justice, following the sudden demise of acting Chief Justice Prashant Kumar. The Supreme Court Collegium has intimated its proposal to appoint new Chief Justices for five High Courts which include the High Courts of Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Madras, Madhya Pradesh and Patna.
DPS felicitates achievers
DPS Ranchi applauded the high achievers of Classes VI-X on Thursday at Vivekananda Auditorium. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Acting Chief Justice Harish Chandra Mishra of Jharkhand High Court and the revered guest was Justice B. B. Manglamirti. The Chief Guest presented the certificates to the students for their stupendous performance. A total of 140 students, who secured 90 per cent and above in all five subjects, were felicitated under various categories depending on their consistent performance over the span of seven consecutive years.
Seminar at SBU
Sarala Birla University organised a seminar on "Biodegradable Options for Plastic" on October 17. The Occasion was graced by Chief Guest cum Speaker of the day Arindam Sarkar, Marketing Head, Kesofen (Nature Wrap). He focussed on biodegradable options for plastic which can reduce the pollution in the environment and provided options which are made of Cellulose / Wood. These products are home compostable. He also said in order to reduce usage of plastics these products can be used for different purposes which are known as transparent papers and easily biodegradable. These products can also act as oxygen carriers.
Maths teacher felicitated
Abhijit Jha, a Mathematics teacher at DAV Gumla, got felicitated by Gumla Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday evening. He is awarded " Ganit Gyata Samman". Jha thanked the GCC Chairman Himanshu Keshri, Secretary Rajesh Kumar Gupta and other officials for love and support and told that keys to success are strenuous effort, hard work and honesty.
