Two road accidents involving school van and bus were reported in Shajapur and Hoshangabad of Madhya Pradesh respectively on Friday.
Three children including a girl died and more than 18 others sustained injuries in the accident reported in the vicinity Richhonda village of Shajapur. The school van carrying 22 students fell into a well.
Police said, the school van had dropped few children at a private school and was taking reverse for going away, when it fell in the well.
Besides, a school bus carrying 26 children overturned on Bandrabhan Road near Hoshangabad district headquarters on Friday. No child suffered serious injuries in the mishap.
As many as 22 students of Campion School were treated for minor injuries at the district hospital, area tehsildar (revenue officer) Shailendra Badonia said.
Campion School director Vijay Seth said the bus driver lost control when a tractor-trolley overtook the vehicle at Sangakheda-Kala village, around 11 km from the district headquarters in Madhya Pradesh.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus was being driven recklessly at the time of the incident. Babai area police are probing the accident.
