PPT holds prayer for martyrs
Paradip: Officers, employees and workers of the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) paid tributes to the CRPF martyrs by observing a silent prayer for two minutes in front of the PPT Administrative Building on Saturday.
SBI pays tributes to martyrs
Bhubaneswar: A candlelight march was organised on Friday in the administrative office premises of the State Bank of India here to pay tributes to the soldiers, including two from Odisha, who laid their lives in Pulwama. The march was led by SBI CHM Praveena Kala, accompanied by GM DS Mishra. The two martyrs from Odisha Prasanna Kumar Sahu and Manoj Kumar Behera happened to be SBI customers. The march ended with a two-minute silence in memory of the martyrs.
VSS Nagar body condemns attack on Jawans
Bhubaneswar: The Veer Surendra Sai Nagar Unnayan Parishad condemned the terrorist attack on CRPF Jawans in Jammu and Kashmir at a condolence meeting held here on Friday afternoon. Parishan vice-president Er Shiba Prasad Mishra, general secretary Dipllip Dashsharma and others held a one-minute silence for the departed souls. They also expressed sympathies with the bereaved families. Among others, treasurer Maheswar Biswal, joint-secretaries Pratap Kumar Nanda and Nimain Charan Das and executive members Dr Kumuda Mishra, Shital Chandra Mohanty and Bibhuti Swain were present.
RSS holds condolence meet for martyrs
Bhubaneswar: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), city unit held a condolence meeting and paid tributes to martyred CRPF Jawans here on Saturday. They lighted earthen lamps and held a silent prayer for the departed souls. Members said the attack indicates terrorists’ frustration and desperation. RSS functionaries like Tanmay Mahapatra, Dr Basant Pati, Subrat Kumar Tripathy, Jayakrushna Prushti, Pratap Dwibedi, Sukant Dash, Golekh Chandra Das and many others paid tributes.
DAVians pay tributes to martyrs
Bhubaneswar: The students, staffs and Principal of the DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur offered floral tributes, lit candles and observed a two-minute silence in memory of the Jawans who rendered supreme sacrifice in the terror strike at Pulwama.
NDRF DG visits Mundali Battalion
Athagarh: Director General of National Disaster Response Force SN Pradhan visited the Third Battalion at Mundali. During his visit,battalion Commandant Jacob Kispotta briefed Pradhan about thepreparedness and training of the elite force. It was followed by demonstration of canine search.
