Chandigarh: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) general manager (Sales and Marketing) SK Koul on Friday maintained that reports regarding the closure of BSNL “is not based on truth”. He said, “At present, BSNL is providing best quality services in landline, broadband, FTTH, lease line and mobile services and it covers the entire Punjab and UT Chandigarh. Infact, 4G services have been launched in Ropar, Anandpur Sahib and is being extended to Bathinda, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar and other SSAs,” he said. Kaul said that it appears that the reports in question have unnecessarily tried to focus on closure as one of the options for revival of any PSU which is not in consonance with the current thinking of Telecom Department.
