New DRM takes charge
Divisional Railway Manager of Ranchi Neeraj Ambashta took charge of office on July 20. A 1990 batch officer of IRTS, Ambashta has provided his services to Railways on various posts including ADOM, DOM, Sr DOM, Sr DCM, CPRO, CTPM, CFTM, CCM FM at several divisions. He has also undertook training courses at ISB, Hyderabad, SDA BOCCONI International Business School, Italy and other institutions at Singapore and Malaysia. Before coming to Ranchi Ambashta was posted as DRM, Jhansi.
DPS students on Yoga
Students of Class IV at DPS, Ranchi showcased an activity for the kids on the importance of Yoga in our day to day life. Through their act they showed how Yoga helps to liberate our body, mind and soul helping us to attain a blissful state of mind through asanas and meditation. Students performed different asanas like Tadasana, Vriksasana, Trikonasana, Surya Namaskar and many more. They motivated everyone to dedicate at least 15 minutes of their day for yoga. Principal Ram Singh applauded the efforts of the students. He advised the students to practice yoga everyday and avoid junk food which in turn would help them to grow into a better human being with a sharp mind, a good heart and a relaxed soul.
Jaiswal rushes accident victim to hospital
Former General Secretary of the State Congress committee, Jharkhand Aditya Vikram Jaiswal helped a man lying unconscious from a road accident in Ranchi on Saturday morning and rushed him to Raj Hospital. According to Jaiswal on reaching the hospital, the doctor enquired about the victims’ family and who will pay for his treatment. “This is not fair of the hospital management and needs to be considered seriously as all hospitals have a provision of administering initial treatment for free and there is no work better than social service,” he said.
Freshers’ Day at XISS
The students of the department of Finance, Xavier Institute of Social Service welcomed the batch of 2019-21 with an official welcome party “Mitraan Di Mehfil” here on Saturday. After the initial induction the students received a warm welcome by their seniors. The theme captured the young energy and vigour of the students perfectly . The event began with the Dhol Beats gracing the faculty of all departments along with the Director of the institute Dr (Fr) Alexius Ekka and Assistant Director Fr. Pradeep Kerketta. The event commenced with a speech by the Assistant Director which was followed by the Lighting of the Lamp ceremony.
BoB Foundation Day
On the occasion of the 112th Foundation Day of Bank of Baroda the employees and officials of the bank took out bike rally and apprised common masses about the importance of water conservation. Various branches of the bank were decorated and CSR activities were conducted, in which refrigerators, water purifiers were given to the needy and medical camps etc were organised.
DPS student writes novel
Rishita Sanya an 11th standard student of DPS Ranchi has come up with her very first book: ‘Connexion’ a fictional novel and has been recognised as India’s one of top 100 debut authors by LITERATURESLIGHT and CRITICSPACE. The novel revolves around a 20 year old girl Kiara who has just moved from Ranchi to California to pursue her studies. Her life sails smoothly until she realizes that a strange man is stalking her. Rishita has come up with a story of life, loss and improbable and unthinkable twists which positively keeps the readers glued to the book.
