Health Min meets Khordha MLA at Mumbai hosp

Bhubaneswar: Health Minister Naba Kishore Das on Monday met Khordha MLA Jyotirindra Nath Mitra at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai where the latter is undergoing treatment. Das, who went on the advice of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, enquired about his health condition and wished him speed recovery. Das said the State Government would provide all support for treatment of Mitra. Besides, Chilika MLA Prasant Kumar Jagadeb and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik also met Mitra.

ECoR holds ZRUCC meeting

Bhubaneswar: A meeting of the Zonal Rail Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) was held here under the chairmanship of ECoR GM Vidya Bhushan on Monday. Members including representatives of different chambers of commerce, PSUs, passenger associations, consumer associations and State Governments presented their views and suggestions. Issues relating to passenger amenities, extension of trains, etc., were discussed.

GIFT holds orientation meet

Bhubaneswar: The 13th orientation programme was held at the GIFT campus to welcome BTech fresher students and BTech lateral entry students. GIFT Principal Dr S Krishna Mohan Rao, Academics Dean Dr Pravat Kumar Subudhi and Administrative Dean Lt Col (Retd) MK Raut attended as guests and Coordinator Prasanna Kumar Rout made the newcomers familiar with the rules and regulations of the college. Programme SPOC Alok Kumar Mohapatra briefed about the various things that will be covered in the programme. Among others, Professors Pranati Mishra, Sudhanshu Bhusan Pati and Vikram Rout were present. The students and their parents were also taken for a college tour.
