SBPS students shine in quiz contest

Three students of SBPS, Shreesh Pathak of Grade V, Yashmittal of Grade VI and Simran of grade VII participated in the Seavus eco-achievers quiz contest organised by Rotary club of Ranchi on December 3, 2019 and grabbed the second runner up position competing with 15 schools of the town. The participants had to go through mind-bogglingrounds related to wildlife, nature, plants and importance of environment. Our students surprised the audience with their in-depth knowledge and information and have been selected for regional semi-finals to be held in February 2020 in Patna.

DPS students qualify in RMO

A total of 45 students qualified in RMO from Jharkhand. Out of 45 students as many as 15 students from DPS Ranchi qualified the prestigious examination. Earlier 71 students from the school qualified the PRMO or Pre-Regional Maths Olympiad exam and qualified for the RMO round. The students who have proved their mettle once again are Kumar Shivam, Anany Mishra, Arnav Jha, Ishan Singh, Yash Raj, Utkarsh Singh, Akhouri Souryam, Dayal Kumar, Smriti Rani Singh, Anjali Roy, Srijan Sashwat, Nikhil Goyal, Kislay, Shiv Ratan and Prajwal Prasad. They are now eligible to appear in Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO), which will be held in the month of January 2020.

International conference at BIT

The inaugural ceremony of the First International Conference on Emerging Trends for Smart Grid Automation and Industry 4.0 (ICETSGAI4.0-2019) sponsored by TEQIP-III and co-sponsored by Typhoon HIL was organised here on Thursday with the institute prayer and lighting of lamp in the presence of Chief Guest P. K. Agarwal, Director and CISO, POSOCO, Prof. S. Konar, Vice-Chancellor, BIT Mesra, General Chair Prof. Parashuram Thakura, Head OF Department of EEE, BIT Mesra, Prof. Padmini Padmanabhan, Dean of Academic Programme, Prof. Sudip Das, Director, IQAC, Prof. Kunal Mukhopadhyay, TEQIP-III Coordinator, Mr. Ram Kumar Gazarnesen, Senior GM, GCP, Conveners Prof. D. K. Mohanta and Prof. T. Ghose, Organising Secretaries Dr. Deepak Kumar and Dr. Debomita Ghosh and other faculty members and students.

Lecture on happiness quotient at RU

Dr RK Rai, head of the Centre for Training in Primal Leadership (CTPL) today delivered a Guest Lecture at RU, HRD Centre. He said that positive attitude is necessary for health and happiness because social isolation itself makes a person vulnerable to mental distresses and anger and anxiety decreases the heart pumping efficiency by 5 per cent and even 7 per cent leading to myocardial infraction. Loving, kindness, compassion must be instilled in students which act as anitidote for all destructive emotions including hijacking of amygdale responsible for swapping the function of left frontal cortex.

New drug by Mankind

Mankind Pharma, has launched a Dydrogesterone-containing drug, for treatment of pregnancy-related complications. Mankind Pharma becomes the first Indian and second global company to develop the drug and make it available at an affordable price. Progesterone is a natural hormone involved in the menstrual cycle, implantation, and in successful maintenance of pregnancy. Any deficiency of progesterone during different stages of the reproductive process can cause infertility, menstrual disorders and miscarriage. Dydrogesterone has a similar molecular structure to natural progesterone but it has enhanced bioavailability and fewer side-effects. It took nine years for a team of 400 scientists at Mankind Research Centre to develop this drug, which is the only retroprogesterone available commercially.

Socio-drama titled Ek Mahanayak coming up

A powerful socio-drama titled Ek Mahanayak — Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is coming up at &TV. Produced by Smriti Shinde’s SOBO Films, the show is an inspirational story of Babasaheb and his journey from the tender age of five, to him becoming the prime architect of the Indian constitution.
