India united because of Nehru, says Nath

Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that the country is standing united today under one flag owing to the vision and competent leadership of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

He mentioned that according to the perception of Pt Nehru, the State Government is working in a planned manner to provide education to the future generation of the State to make them competent and successful with their personality development. Kamal Nath was addressing a seminar on the 130th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya on Thursday.

The Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that Pandit Nehru was very serious about developing a scientific approach with an educated nation. After the independence, he had a great challenge towards nation- building in the form of strengthening unity in diversity and enlightened nation. He faced this challenge with his competent leadership, vision and firm determination. All the present reputed educational institutions and research centers today in the country are the gift of Nehruji. The Chief Minister said that Nehruji laid the strong foundation of India, which is one of the powerful nations of the world today.

Nath stated that despite various castes, religions and languages in the country, Nehruji made the country stand under one flag, which is acknowledged by the entire world today. He said that today, our democracy in the country is strong, every effort to weaken it is failing, the credit of it goes to Pandit Nehru. He strengthened democracy by giving Baba Sahib Ambedkar the responsibility of forming the Constitution.

Recalling his childhood memories when he came in contact with Pt Nehru, the Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that when he was the classmate of Sanjay Gandhi at Doon School, Pt Nehru along with Smt. Indira Gandhi used to visit Sanjay Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi once a month as per the rules of the school. He came in contact with Nehruji and Indiraji during the visit.

Minister for Higher Education Jeetu Patwari said that after the independence Pt. Nehru gave a new direction and vision to the country with progressive thinking when our country was in the clutches of orthodox thinking and superstition. At that time, even a needle was not manufactured in our country.

Minister for Public Relations PC Sharma said that today the Chief Minister Kamal Nath is developing the state in the field of industry and education according to the progressive thinking of Pt Nehru.

The Key Orator of the seminar, Educationist Anil Sadgopal said that there are three significant views of Pt Nehru, which are not only relevant at this time but also guide us. He further mentioned that Nehruji used to say that the objective of education is service. Education should not be used in self-interest but it used be used in the service to the entire society.
