Indore Commissioner pledges to clean 21 km long Kanh River

The newly appointed Indore Commissioner Akash Tripathi has again taken up the work of cleaning up 21 kilometer long Kanh River which originates from the mountain of Umaria village of Indore district and passes through the centre of Indore city and in the end join river Kshipra.

While talking to The Pioneer Indore commissioner Akash Tripathi told that basically the Kanh is seasonal river which flows continuously during rainy season.

After the rains the river passage turns into dirty drain as the drain water of several parts of Indore city is flown into this river.

At first we will block the flow of all the drains into the river also we will build stop dam at various sections of this river so that the rain water can be stored during various points of the river.

The stored water will also recharge the ground water level of Indore city.

“During my tenure as Indore collector I had done the complete measurement of Kanh River and the government land besides the Kanh River and number of encroachments on the Kanh River that file is missing from the Indore collector office so now again we are coming up with a new survey and measurement of government land besides the Kanh River. Also I am aware of the total 15000 undernourished children in all the districts of Indore division so to make these children health will be in top priority with the help of women and child department of Indore division,” he added.

Also now the government will conduct 50 operations yearly in the government hospital of bone marrow transplantation presently it is 10 per year.

To remove the encroachment from the government land and also take strict action against illegal colonizers and who ever have encroached the government land during the construction of the private colonies. Broadening and new construction of roads in some different parts of Indore city and construction of interstate bus terminal will be done.

In the 10 acre of land which the government has in Vijay Nagar area a shopping mall will come up along with  multi level parking and bus terminal.
