nChhattisgarh health and family welfare minister T. S. Singhdeo admitted that inertness exists in the health department and that timely intervention is being done to remove it.
Singhdeo made the observation while interacting with media on Saturday during his short inspection visit to Super Speciality Hospital, Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) and district hospital, Bilaspur.
He further said steps are being taken to improve the entrance to the CIMS and a study is being undertaken for the purpose. At present students of trauma, OPD and medical make entry through a single route. The approach road is also being improved, he added.
Health minister said a Super Speciality Hospital at Koni is under construction at a cost of Rs 86 crore. It would be 11-storied building. It is expected to be completed by next year.
Inspecting District Hospital, he said now the OPD is getting better.
Minister also interacted with the patients who told him that situation in the hospital has now improved. They however informed him that they had to procure medicines from outside. Hearing this, the minister directed the officials to make necessary arrangements to ensure medicines are available at the hospital.
