For proper utilization of unused government land in Durg town, the Chhattisgarh government has prepared an integrated development plan.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel made the announcement on Wednesday stating that Durg town has adequate government land.
It will help resolve residential problem of officers and employees of the government, help organisations such as the Bar Association to have their own buildings to run their activities.
Baghel was addressing the Durg District Bar Association office bearers’ oath taking ceremony held at Manas Bhawan, Durg.
Chief Minister said, “When I am among lawyers, I am reminded of freedom movement where Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Dr Bheemrao Ambedkar and several other lawyers had contributed to the freedom struggle of the country.”
He said lawyers play key role in strengthening democracy and country and society have many hopes from them. Constitution is a prominent pillar which has to be further strengthened by talent and energy.
Recalling Dr Khoobchand Baghel’s contribution, Chief Minister said the responsibility of the privileged is to hold fingers of weaker sections of the people who are still unaware of laws.
He recalled that in earlier days intellectual discussions used to be held in district and sessions court premises, but now space has become a constrain.
