With arrest of four criminals, the sleuths of Delhi Police have busted an inter-State gang of carjackers who to earn easy and quick money used to steal cars in national Capital and used to sell them at throw away price in Uttar Pradesh’s (UP) Moradabad.
The accused have been identified as Gulzar (31) a resident of Ghonda, Delhi, Jareef (30) resident of Loni, UP, Aged 30 years, Gulzar (40) alias Bhura a resident of Sambhal, UP and Safiq (30) alias Musa who is a resident of district Muradabad in UP.
According to Atul Kumar Thakur, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), North East district, a victim Sunil Verma a resident of Gamri, Delhi and a dairy owner by profession reported that on the intervening night of 27 April he was waiting for a milk van at Khajuri Chowk when four persons robbed his car on the point of knife and fled away.
“A case was registered at Shastri Park police station and investigation was taken up. During investigation, CCTV footages of various locations were scrutinized and technical surveillance was also mounted on the suspects to find the clue about the culprits,” said the DCP.
“On May 11, specific inputs were received regarding one of the accused following which police team conducted a raid which led to the arrest of Gulzar. On his instance others were also arrested,” said the DCP.
“During interrogation, the accused revealed that the accused Gulzar and his associate Firoz used to sell robbed and stolen cars to Shafiq in Moradabad (UP). Accused Bhura and his other associates used to dispose-off the robbed and stolen cars. Bhura are his associates and are desperate receivers of robbed and stolen cars in Sambhal, Amroha and Moradabad (UP),” said the DCP adding that further investigation is going on.
