The KIIT University has been entrusted by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to organise the East Zone Inter University Volleyball (Women) Tournament 2019-20 from December 7 to 10.
Panchayati Raj and Law Minister Pratap Jena inaugurated the tournament on Saturday.
A total of 28 university teams with about 350 participants are taking part in the tournament. KIIT and KISS founder Achyuta Samanta conveyed his good wishes to the participants.
On the first day, Hemchand Yadav Vishwavidyalaya, Durg defeated Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur by 3-0 sets. Patna University defeated Ravenshaw University by 3-0 sets and University of Kalyani defeated MG Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi by 3-0 sets.
