It was BJP which didn’t keep promise made to farmers: Cong

Friday, 08 November 2019 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

State Congress has charged that Bharatiya Janata Party had earlier ditched farmers by not keeping promise it made to them in the party’s manifesto.

Congress was not like the BJP and hence it will fulfill all its promises made, the ruling party’s state general secretary Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said in a statement on Thursday.

He said that BJP was falsely propagating in social media that the Congress government in state was not going to provide Rs 2500 MSP for paddy this year.

The Baghel government in the state is bound to keep its promise and is going to procure paddy from all the registered farmers of the state, he added.

On the contrary, he said, the previous BJP government, even though the saffron party had mentioned in its 2013 assembly election manifesto about bonus to farmers, did not keep its promise.
