Sunday, 25 August 2019 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

The Ministry of Railways cancelled its official programmes scheduled on Saturday in the State in view of former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s death.

There was no official celebration at the Junagarh railway station while the programme scheduled at the Rail Sadan in Bhubaneswar to launch unreserved train tickets in Odia script was postponed, said the East Coast Railway (ECoR) in a release.

However, the Junagarh-Bhubaneswar Express launching programme scheduled at the Junagarh railway station was held without any speech making. In view of ticket bookings by the passengers, the authorities decided not to defer the event of the express train flagging off on the day.

Only the train was flagged off at the scheduled time without any official address.
