Jaya Prada hits out at Azam

Sunday, 14 April 2019 | PNS | Lucknow

Actor-turned-politician and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Rampur Lok Sabha constituency, Jaya Prada, on Saturday attacked Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan, saying that while she had called him a ‘bhai’ (brother), he had described her as a ‘naachne waali’.

Addressing a gathering while campaigning in Rampur, Jaya said, “Azam Khan, I called you a brother but you insulted me. Do our brothers look at us as ‘naachne waalis’? That is why I wanted to leave Rampur.”

The BJP candidate from Rampur further said that she had told SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav that her obscene pictures were being circulated in Rampur but he did nothing to prevent Khan from indulging in dirty acts.

Jaya Prada will take on her bitter rival and SP candidate Azam Khan in Rampur Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

“While watching the film Padmaavat, Khilji’s character reminded me of Azam Khan. How he harassed me during elections when I was contesting,” Jaya said.

To Jaya’s Khilji statement, Khan said, “Heard Khilji’s character is very bad in the film. Padmaavati left this world before Khilji’s arrival. But now, a woman, a naachne waali (dancer), has made some remark about me. Tell me, if I entertain this ‘naachne-gaane wali’, how will I focus on politics?”

During the 2009 Lok Sabha polls, Jaya Prada had accused Khan of circulating her obscene pictures in Rampur. At that time Jaya Prada had also said that she wanted to commit suicide.
