In a damage control mode, four officials have been suspended by Sports Minister Jitu Patwari on Thursday after report was submitted in the case of unmarried sportswoman who gave birth to a stillborn baby.
The Youth Welfare and Sports Department swung into action and tried best to control issue from snowballing but the action was late as the girl delivery baby and accepted that she has developed relationship with her classmate which resulted in pregnancy.
The In-charge of the Academy Uma Patel has been served with show-cause notice and reply has been sought within next three days.
The coach GL Yadav and Warden Monika Paroche were quizzed for around 4 hours by team formed by Ministry of Sports.
Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Department KL Thousen said that the player would be counselled after she would be discharged from the hospital and she would be helped to pursue her career. She would be counselled after she returns from hospital.
To avoid such incidences committee would be formed which would keep eye and monitor in these cases.
In the whole episode nothing was found which could validate the consequences of girl’s getting pregnant and none of the players, trainers and officials could sense that she is pregnant.
The parents of the girl died long ago and she used to live with her grandparents in Katni and also in an orphanage according to her statements she had developed relationship with her friend whom she is acquainted from childhood.
