JJA seeks changes in pension scheme

Friday, 30 August 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand Journalist Association has expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for passing the Journalist Pension Scheme by the Cabinet. The association urged the CM to make provisions on the scheme for journalists in need, especially those who are about to retire. The pension scheme states that journalists retired after January 1, 2015 will get the pension. However, it does not mention such journalists who retired before the said date.

The association also demanded including such journalists who have been shifted to other States by the management. The association also demanded that those who do not have an accreditation, their cases should be dealt by a committee formed under leadership of DC, the members for which would be resident editors and bureau chiefs of recognised media houses.
