Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) International Cricket Stadium is all set to host India and South Africa in a Test match from October 19. The third test match is last match of Freedom Trophy in the Gandhi-Mandela series.
The Proteas team and few players from Team India on Tuesday reached Ranchi. JSCA vice president Ajay Nath Shahdeo said, “The South African team and five players from Team India will participate at the practice session at 10 am, while the rest of Indian players who too will reach Capital by morning will participate at the practice session in the evening at 2 PM.” Meanwhile, the JSCA has completed the preparations for test matches.
The 39,000 capacity JSCA stadium will be hosting its second Test match. The first test match was held from 16-20 March, 2017 between India and Australia which ended in a draw. The stadium has also hosted five One Day and two T20 internationals.
The match also assumes importance as matches will be played after JSCA getting a new elected body.In the last test match, India thrashed South Africa by an innings and 137 runs in the second Test in Pune to secure a record 11th straight home Test series win. The home side which is euphoric with two consecutive victories have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series heading into the final Test in Ranchi.
Meanwhile, the sale of tickets for test series started on Tuesday. The ticket price ranges from Rs 250 to Rs 2000 per day which will be sold from counters at West Gate of JSCA stadium. For Amitabh Choudhary Pavilion (Premium Terrace) the cost of the ticket is Rs 700, for President’s Enclosure Rs 2000 and Hospitality Box Rs 1500.
For MS Dhoni Pavilion Donors Enclosure the cost of the ticket is Rs 600 and for Corporate Salon Rs 1500. All ticket cost are on per day basis.
The JSCA will also provide passes to Indian Army, paramilitary and Jharkhand police personnel. Cricket Clubs and Cricket Academies will be invited for the match.
