The last date for submission of election-related accounts by candidates of the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls is till 5.00 pm on June 22 at the respective District Electoral Officer's office.
Election Commission of India appointed election expense observers Kumar Ajit and Jadhvar Vivekanand Rajendra, for Raipur Lok Sabha seat held a meeting with candidates and their agents at Red Cross conference hall to guide the candidates and agents regarding the accounts filing.
The observers said that all candidates have to submit their election-related accounts in specified format within 30 days after counting of votes to accounting team. If the candidates fail to submit the accounts then their report is sent to ECI. ECI then declares such candidates as defaulters and debar them from contesting election for next three years.
The observers provided technical guidance on the accounts related problems. Additional collector Ashutosh Pandey stated that if any candidate or his agent is facing any problem in submission of accounts he or she can seek necessary guidance in fulfilling the norms within specified format, before last date of submission.
