The Delhi Police has apprehended a 17-year-old juvenile in connection with the killing of a 27-year-old gym trainer cum social media celebrity, Mohit Mor in Dwarka’s Najafgarh earlier this week.

The 17-year-old juvenile, a resident of Najafgarh, was apprehended by Special Cell of Delhi Police around 4.10 pm on Thursday from Dhulsiras Mor near Village Dhulsiras in Delhi’s Dwarka area.

Police have also recovered one country-made pistol and two live cartridges from his possession. Police said that the clothes worn by him at the time of the incident were also found.

Mohit Mor, a resident of Bahadurgarh, was shot dead on Tuesday. He was active on a social-networking app and had lakhs of followers. Three men, of which two were wearing helmets, opened fire at Mor who had come to a photostate shop to meet a friend. Mor died on the spot.

The two other accused, who were involved in the murder of Mohit, has been identified as Vikas alias PK, a resident of Bakkarwala and Rohit Malik, a resident of Delhi’s Milakpur. Police said that they have initiated a manhunt to nab all the remaining accused.

According to Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Special Cell, on Tuesday, May 21, the gangster Sandeep Pehlwan had sent three of his associates including the new recruit, juvenile, to kill Mohit.

“During interrogation, the juvenile disclosed that Sandeep handed over them three country made pistol and gave them location of Mohit Mor, who was sitting in a shop in Najafgarh area.  Rohit and PK fired around 13 bullets on Mohit Mor due to which Mohit died on the spot. After this incident all assailants went underground,” said the DCP adding that the juvenile was apprehended on May 23, after police received specific inputs.

“The motive behind was that Mangu, who was killed earlier, had invested about Rs 30 Lakhs in a plot in Mohan Garden through Mohit.

After Mangu’s murder, Mohit did not return that amount to Mangu’s friends and instead took protection from Manjeet Mahal gang through Pradeep Solanki and Vikas Dalal,” said the DCP.

“After the murder of Vikas Dalal, who was killed in Uttam Nagar shootout, Mangu’s friends again demanded money from Mohit, to which he again refused. Due to this, strong enmity grew between them. It was due to this reason that Sandeep got murdered Mohit through Vikas, Rohit and juvenile,” said the DCP adding that they are members of notorious Jyoti Sangwan-Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu gang.
