A farmer in Kandhamal district committed suicide on Saturday allegedly over crop loss caused due to floods.
The deceased was identified as Govardhan Mallick of Kilupada village under Nuagaon block.
According to reports, Mallick took the extreme step by consuming pesticide. He died while undergoing treatment at the Sub-Divisional Hospital (SDH) in Balliguda.
His family alleged that he ended his life due to crop loss following floods.
