Kabaddi competition: Civil Services team continues splendid performance

On the third day of the All India Civil Services Kabaddi competition being played at the Martial Arts, the players of Madhya Pradesh State women's team continued their splendid performance and achieved great success.

In the women's category on Sunday, Madhya Pradesh women's women players of Madhya Pradesh kept their strong hold on the players of Haryana and did not let them dominate. In this interesting match, Madhya Pradesh defeated Haryana by 38-4 points and won a one-sided victory and made their way to the final. In the second semifinal match played in women's section, RSB Rajasthan beat Himachal Pradesh by 48-4 points and entered the final. The final match will be played on Monday evening.

The pre-quarterfinal match played on Sunday in the men's category under the All India Civil Services Kabaddi Competition, CS Delhi defeated RSB Mumbai by 45-34 points. In the men's league matches played this morning, Rajasthan State has won by 44-29 points defeating Uttar Pradesh State, Maharashtra State won by 44-13 points, Haryana State has defeated Karnataka State by 29-5 points and Kerala State has won by 40-20 points by defeating Chhattisgarh. In the match played in the evening, RSB Bengaluru defeated RSB Hyderabad by 35-14 points. In the second exciting encounter, the Central Secretariat defeated the RSB Mumbai by 43-34 points. This competition will be played from February 5, 2019.

Meanwhile in the 6th National Deaf and Dumb Junior Sports Championship payed in Chennai Bhopal's badminton player Gauranki won the bronze medal in silver and singles in the Under-16 Doubles category.

Gaurangi Sharma, a promising badminton player from Bhopal, won a silver and bronze medal in the Championship that was played from January 27 to 31, 2019, at Chennai's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. In the championship Uttar Pradesh won by 15-21, 13-21 points in the final match of doubles played between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh was the runner-up. This championship was organized by the All India Sports Council of the Deaf.

It is notable that Gaurangi Sharma is a hearing impaired badminton player who has been trained for Badminton Sports under the guidance of Badminton instructor Rashmi Malviya for the last two years. Expressing his happiness over Gaurangi Sharma's achievement, SL Thoussen Director Sports and Youth Welfare congratulated her and wished luck for future endeavours.
