The residents of Ranchi are in for good news as the State capital has been included in the list of the top three smart cities of the country and before the end of the year the city will boast of numerous delightful places to visit. One such place being renovated is the Karamtoli pond which is being termed as a dream project of the Chief Minister Raghubar Das.

Located at a short distance from Morhabadi Ground and measuring around 143 meters long and 74 meters wide, the Karamtoli Talab is being primed at a whooping cost of Rs 10.37 crore.

The implementation of the project work has been given to Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company Limited (JUIDCO).

Recently upon inspection the CM has instructed to complete the work by October 22.

The CM has also directed that instead of a fountain, a musical fountain is to be installed and paddle boats should also be put at the site.

However, if the JUDICO officials are to be believed the project will take another two months for completion. The Urban Development and Housing Department and JUDICO have started the work for installing a musical fountain.

To ensure clean water in the pond, a sewerage treatment plant has also been installed to clean the water coming from outside.

To add to the beauty, instead of a boundary wall an iron grill has been put up on all sides of the water body. A children’s park has also been built on one side.

On one side of the pond there will be two public restrooms and a food court will be there on the first floor. The premises will also have a bio toilet. For a greener environment and to enhance the beauty same kind of plants have been planted around the pond.

Three Chhath ghats with special lights have been made where as the Sarna site located on one side has also been beautified.

The entire premises has been developed as a no concrete zone.

The venue will also boost of adequate parking space, attractive lighting arrangements around the entire campus and tensile structures to provide shelter during rains.

Even though the park is yet to be inaugurated with the installation process of the musical fountain still in process, people have already started visiting the place appreciating the beauty of the work done so far.

Once the pond complex will be open to be public, it will be one of the most attractive places in the Capital city. Efforts are also being made to provide entertainment activities like boating, music, sports and mouth watering delicacies at the venue.
