nIn a major re-shuffle at the top level, effected by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal, Ajay Kashyap the Indian Police Services (IPS) officer of 1985 batch of Arunachal, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT), the DG Delhi Prisons was transferred and posted as Director General of Home Guards.
Sandeep Goel, IPS 1989 batch of AGMUT cadre, currently posted as Special Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) North Zone has been sent as the new DG Delhi Prisons.
In an order issued on Tuesday by LG’s, J K Sharma, IPS of the 1982 batch of AGMUT cadre, who was DG, Home Guards has been transferred as DG, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). Whereas, Sandeep Goel, IPS 1989 batch, posted as Special Commissioner of Police, Law and Order (North), has been given charge of DG, Prisons.
In a related transfers order issued by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday, S Sundari Nanda, IPS 1988 batch and posted as DG of Police (DGP) in Puducherry has been transferred back to Delhi. However, DGP Mizoram, Balaji Srivastva, IPS 1988 batch, has been given the charge of DGP Puducherry. Meanwhile, DGP, Arunachal Pradesh, B K Singh, IPS 1988 batch, will take charge as DGP, Mizoram. RP Upadhyaya of the 1991 batch and the Additional DGP of Arunchal Pradesh has been asked tp take charge as the DGP of the state till further orders.
All eyes are on now glued on the crucial meeting of the Joint Cadre Authority (JCA) slated to be held on Wednesday. JCA meeting chaired by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah was earlier fixed for Friday ( July 19,2019) but was pre-poned.
According to sources DCP and Special CP level IPS officers of the AGMUT cadre will be affected after the JCA takes the call on the new transfers and postings.
