Kejriwal terms Sheila’s Modi praise shocking

Friday, 15 March 2019 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said the statement of Congress leader Sheila Dikshit praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi is really surprising and indicates something is going on between the BJP and the Congress.

After Shiela Dikshit comment on PM Modi, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “The alliance between Congress and BJP has come to the fore. The statement by Shiela Dikshit is quite shocking. Some khichdi is being cooked between BJP and Congress,”

The reaction of Kejriwal came in response to Sheila Dikshit’s interview to a TV news channel in which she said that the former Congress Prime minister Manmohan Singh was not as tough in dealing with terrorism as Prime Minister Modi.

In an interview to a news channel, when asked about the UPA Government’s stand after the ghastly 26/11 Mumbai attack, Dikshit said, “Manmohan Singh, yes I agree with you, was not as strong and as determined as he (Modi) is.”

Expressing extreme surprise at Dikshit’s comments praising the BJP’s Prime Minister, Kejriwal stated: “This statement of Sheila Dikshit ji is really extremely shocking. It appears something is cooking between the BJP and the Congress.”

In his response, senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia stated: “We have been saying this since the beginning that this time the Congress is working to make Modi ji the Prime Minister once again.”

AAP has consistently maintained over the years that depending on their convenience according to time and situation, the BJP and Congress do not hesitate to come together. Delhi is one of the prime examples which witnessed this phenomenon many times during last four years when the Congress did not hesitate even for a moment to join hands with the BJP.

AAP is of the firm opinion that situation in Delhi over the last four years amply proved that there is an undeclared alliance between the BJP and the Congress.

Delhi Congress unit during last four years left no stone unturned in joining hands with the BJP to stall public welfare policies of the elected Delhi Government.

Delhi Congress unit was hand in glove with the BJP in making a mockery of the Constitution and the federal set-up to trouble the government elected by the people of Delhi with the highest ever mandate in the electoral history of India.
