Kendrapada youth held for iPhone theft in Hyderabad

The Telangana police on Monday arrested a youth of Chandiagadi village under the Aul police station on the charge of stealing 18 costly mobile phones from a shop in Hyderabad.

The accused was identified as Rabindra Mallick.

Reports said a team of Telegana police assisted by their Aul  counterparts conducted a raid in the villag and arrested Rabindra after seizing 18 mobile phones.

The mobile phones are of iPhone brand and cost over 6 lakh, said police.

Rabindra who worked as a pipe fitter in Ramgopalpet area in Hyderabad and frequented a mobile shop located in the area had stolen the iPhones from there before fleeing to Odisha.

Based on the CCTV footage of the looted shop, the Telengana cops started an investigation and reached Aul on Sunday. Later, they carried out a raid with the help of Aul PS IIC Salil Pradhan.

The team later returned to Hyderabad after taking custody of the accused.
