Keralite man found dead in Doon, police suspect murder

The suspected murder of a man from Kerala in Dehradun had the entire district police in turmoil since Wednesday late night. The deceased was taken by four of his accomplices to a private hospital on Mussoorie Road, where he succumbed to his injuries. According to official sources, the police have detained four men.

The body of deceased man is reportedly covered with several bruises, based on which police suspect that he might have been brutally tortured. Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arun Mohan Joshi said that the investigation is ongoing and that a few suspects have been detained.

 According to the sources, under the direct supervision of Superintendent of Police (city) Shweta Choubey a combined team of Rajpur and Premnagar police station was set up. Police found it suspicious that the four men who took the deceased in severely injured state to the hospital ran away afterwards.  During the initial investigation police also faced difficulties in ascertaining the identity of the deceased. There are also rumours that transaction of crypto-currency and heavy loss because of this transaction was the reason for him being tortured. The police are investigating this aspect as well. Sources further stated that the suspects were posing as private college students in order to rent the rooms they were staying in. They were reportedly in Dehradun for the past 30 days. The deceased man is reportedly 25 years old. SP city said, “We have found some leads on which we are still investigating. Soon the accused will be behind bars.”  The deceased has been identified as Abdul Shakoor, native of Kerala. According to local police the deceased was admitted at the emergency ward of a private hospital at 11:20 on Wednesday night by few other men. They came through a private car which they then left at the the hospital premises and ran away.
