Kidnapped PDS dealer rescued in six hours

Sunday, 06 October 2019 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

A PDS dealer-cum-human resources (Labourers ) supplier Dayashanker alias Bittu who was kidnapped today around 7 in the morning enroute to Kachan has been recovered by Palamu police in six hours in the jungle of Kachan.

SP Ajay Linda said the man was on way to Kachan where he has his PDS shop. He was overtaken by five people riding two bikes.  These five took him down to the jungle of Kachan under Palamu’s Ramgarh police station. It was a very planned kidnapping and a pre meditated one too asserted Linda.

Linda said the timing of the kidnapping was early morning around 7 which meant the kidnappers knew a few hours would go into force mobilization but “ We acted too fast” reiterated Linda.

Linda said he got this information around 8.45 in the morning from one of the kin of this man and without waiting for any more input the police of Chainpur, Ramgarh in Palamu and Barwadeeh police in Latehar and Ramkanda police in Garhwa district were informed to keep eyes on any movement of 5 plus one man in captivity.Linda said the entire stretch was cordoned off in a very meticulous manner. He said he also went to Ramkanda area to see if this band takes a chance to slip through that part.

“Police mounted tremendous pressure and its huge movement was too visible which helped us most as police intercepted a message in which a caller was telling the band of kidnappers about police zeroing in on them in a large number and walking down with the kidnapped Bittu could be dangerous for their own life and this resulted in the panic that set off in the band of the kidnappers who pushed three of their 5 man team to find out as to how and where the police search teams were working and the remaining two went to find out their own exit route” added Linda.

“The kidnapped took advantage of this panic of the kidnappers and gave aslip and hid himself in the bushes that are overgrown too much in this rain fed days” added Linda.

The kidnapped sat there in hiding for one hour and finally our boys got him safe. He was pressured for ransom by kidnappers which was said to be too hefty in lieu of his life said other sources but no ransom exchanged any hand as police aborted the plan of the kidnappers.

Officer in charge and inspector of Chainpur police stations Sunit Kumar and Shahi respectively and the team did a good job said sources.
