Kolhan University to celebrate its 11th Foundation Day today

Kolhan University will be observing its 11th Foundation Day ceremony on August 13. The varsity had already organised a meeting of its organisation committee yesterday to chalk out the details of the programme. Students from various colleges of Jamshedpur and Chaibasa put up a cultural programme on the foundation day of the university.

"We have completed 10 years and will step on the 11th year. We want to make it memorable. The foundation day will be celebrated at the university headquarters," said a member of the Foundation Day organising committee.

The varsity has decided to felicitate retired teachers this year by distributing their papers regarding settlement of their provident fund and gratuity on the day of the programme. Various colleges like Mahila College, Chaibasa and other colleges will present cultural programme.

The university has also asked all the affiliated and constituent colleges to celebrate the foundation day in their own capacity in colleges. The Kolhan University was established on August 13, 2009 with 14 Constituent Colleges and 12 Affiliated Colleges in geographical jurisdiction of East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum  and Seraikela Kharswan District with more than 80,000 students strength. The university is in the area of tribal region.

Apart from conventional courses in UG and PG level including medical, dental, engineering, law, management, education following vocational courses are running under the university.
