Kondagaon district administration embarked upon a bangle-making training programme for women of the region to provide them employment opportunities.
Official sources informed that with the special initiative taken by district collector Nilkanth Tekam, training centers have been established in the district for manufacturing of designer bangles. Specially trained trainers would impart training to these women, sources said.
The district administration has also installed a kiln in the district headquarters for melting of glass and making designer bangles.
Master trainer of the society formed for this purpose Maheep Singh informed that raw materials will be provided by the society and a woman can earn Rs 300 to 400 per day by devoting their spare time in bangle making.
Collector Tekam said the woman after completing their household works will be able to give time in these centers.
The endeavour will ensure women empowerment, Tekam said.
