In the Pathariya Peer case in which at least seven people died by allegedly drinking illicit liquor, Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arun Mohan Joshi earlier suspended Station in-charge of Dehradun Kotwali Shishupal Negi and the in-charge of Dhara police post Kulwant Singh from active duty.
The internal inquiry to ascertain their involvement in the case was given to Superintendent of Police (rural) Parmendra Dobhal. On the basis of his report, in which both the officers have been found not-guilty, SSP Joshi has reinstated both the officers.
In the report, it was found that two constables from Dhara Chowki, Pradeep Kumar and Mohit Sharma, were, in fact, giving advance information to the suppliers in the area about any action or raid that was being planned by the senior officials. Both constables have been reverted to the lines by Dehradun SSP.
