Lightning strike took place at Kurumba village under Dugda police station around 7:35 pm on Sunday, where two girls were killed and one received serious injuries.
The injured woman identified as Purnima Devi was admitted to a hospital for treatment, police said.
The deceased were identified as Chanda Kumari (14) and 13 year-old Chanchala Kumari. Dugda police station in-charge Dinesh Prasad said Chanda along with his friend Chanchala went to collect water from a tap nearby village.
Sources said that as the thundery development started, all three took shelter near a tap. Lightning struck the there and all three were found lying on ground.
