Liquor, cash and drugs amounting to Rs 9.67 cr (Rs 9,67,05,130) has been seized by the Police and Excise Department in Haryana in view of upcoming State Assembly polls. Sharing more details, Haryana joint chief electoral officer, Inder Jeet said that the police have so far recovered 121229 litres liquor, worth over Rs 2,74,20,448.
Similarly, the Excise Department has so far recovered 24254 litres of liquor, which is worth Rs 60,91,60. Thus, a total of 145483 litres of liquor has been seized by the Excise and Police Departments, which costs Rs 3,35,11,508, he said.
He said that till now, the Police Department has seized illegal cash amount of 2,68,17,419. He further shared that drugs and toxic substances worth Rs 3,63,76,203 have been seized by the flying squad and the static surveillance teams.
In order to maintain law and order in the State during the elections, 117867 license arms have so far been deposited by the Haryana Police. Apart from this, the police have also seized 173 unlicensed weapons, Inder Jeet said. He said that the 437 police check-post have been set up at various places in the State.
He further said that the police have recovered 92787 bottles of country made liquor, 56516 bottles of English liquor, 4004 bottles of beer, 124 illegal liquor bottles, 656.57 kg hemp, 134.89 kg poppy husk, 1.36 kg heroin, 9.280 kg opium, 2.16 kg smack, 255 kg lahan, 27.832 kg churapost, 634 gm chita and 2.50 kg charas and 322 kg Sulfa. He said that fake currency notes of Rs 49,62,000 have also been seized by the police.
