LJP to contest Assembly elections: Chirag Paswan

One of the main allies of the BJP Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) on Sunday said that it will contest the upcoming State Assembly election which is scheduled in 2019 as NDA ally. He also made it clear that if his party is denied respectable seats it may even consider contesting alone. 

Addressing a press meet after conclusion of two day national executive meeting of the party in Ranchi on Sunday, Parliamentary Board Chairman of the party Chirag Paswan said that from now the party will contest in every election from panchayat level to top level.

“Keeping in mind that our organization is present across the country the party has decided during the meeting that it will contest all the elections right from  municipal level to parliamentary level to expand our base in the country,” he added.

Revealing on the present seat sharing process Paswan said till now in Bihar the talks on seat sharing have not been finalised with other coalition partners such as BJP and JD (U) after that the party will decide that what will be its strategy in Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. 

While commenting on ‘weather scientist’ label attached to the party’s president Ramvilas Paswan, he said that the LJP has never entered in post poll alliance and the party president only forms pre-poll alliances. “Whichever alliance he made it went on forming government at the Centre. He has expressed confidence that this time also in 2019 the NDA will form government in the Centre,” he said. 

Taking about main purpose behind organising the party’s national executive meeting in Ranchi he said it is to strengthen LJPs’s organizational presence in all 14 lok Sabha seats and 81 Assembly constituencies in the State.

Instructing the party workers for the general elections, he said, “The workers of LJP to spread messages of good work of Prime Miniter Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Raghubar Das across the State to make sure win in upcoming general elections.”
