Wednesday, 11 September 2019 | PNS | Haridwar

Panic prevailed in Ibrahimpur village under the jurisdiction of Pathri police station when a crocodile appeared on the road of the village on Monday night. When the villagers were returning to their homes, they saw some movement of a creature in the middle of the road.

Coming closer, they found that it was a big crocodile seeing which they became panicky and started screaming. Soon there were lots of people crowded on the spot.  The forest department team rescued the crocodile after some effort and released it into Ganga river.

Near Ibrahimpur village there is a river which flows down from Roshnabad towards the village. The waste water of SIIDCUL is also discharged in this river through which this crocodile reached the village road. This crocodile was often seen on the roadside by the villagers but on Monday it came up to the road. The team of the forest department trapped the crocodile after a long struggle and released it in the Ganga river. The villagers say that wild animals entering the village has become a regular occurence.

Speaking to this correspondent, forest guard Nand Kishor Pandey said, “As soon as we received the information, our rescue team reached the site. The villagers have told us that there is one more crocodile in the nullah which we are trying to catch. Soon that crocodile too will be rescued.”
