Lt Shivam Singh gets prestigious Sword of Honour during ‘Passing Out Parade’

Wing Cadet Captain (WCC), now Lt Shivam Singh, of Cadets Training Wing (CTW), Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow, received the prestigious Sword of Honour during the Passing Out Parade held at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya on December 07, 2019.

He had the unique distinction of wining all three top honours. He won Gold Medal for standing first in overall order of merit amongst 91 Gentlemen Cadets of Technical Entry Scheme (TES) course serial –34.  Secondly, he won the prestigious Sword of Honour on being adjudged the best Gentlemen Cadet.

Thirdly, he also commanded the passing out parade. The parade was reviewed by Lt Gen Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of General Staff, Vietnam People’s Army.

Lt Shivam Singh comes from service background where his father is a Sergeant in Indian Air Force and mother is a homemaker. Lt Shivam Singh has an outstanding track record during his training at Cadets Training Wing, MCTE, Mhow.

He has been a six-star Gold Torch holder for excellence in academics in all six semesters of his B Tech degree with an overall CPGA of 8.9 out of 9.0.

He is also an outstanding sportsman and exceptional marathon runner. He has also been awarded BLUE in cross-country for exceptional performance of a very high order in the cross-country events organised in the wing and also in Inter CTW Triangulars. For his exemplary performance, he was appointed as Wing Cadet Captain in his sixth term at CTW, MCTE, Mhow.

It is a proud moment for MCTE, Mhow, as Lt Shivam Singh has achieved this rare distinction of being the second Gentleman Cadet consecutively (Lt Kulvinder Singh won the same honour on June 08, 2019) from CTW, MCTE to receive the coveted Sword of Honour along with Gold medal.
