The Special Task Force (STF) of Jabalpur unit has unearthed first of its kind nexus of drug mafia and hawala in the State and have seized a massive Rs 18 lakh cash from a hawala operator for delivering of drugs.
In the investigation the clue which provided link was the drug peddler Motilal Mali nabbed by STF earlier in the month and recovered around 4 kg of Opium worth Rs 16 lakh. The quantity was not massive but when the accused was grilled STF hit the gold as the accused confessed that drug consignment was procured from Jhalawar in Rajasthan.
The suppliers there were in contact with a hawala operator Trilokchand Ruplani whose network supplies Opium in Bhilwara, Jodhpur, Delhi, Kolkata and Indore and who provide money for the nexus through hawala for delivery of drugs in different areas of the country.
Now Ruplani based on the information was traced and his movements were watched. After it was confirmed that he is operates in hawla and would collect money for the drugs delivered he was nabbed with Rs 18,76,500 lakh. Ruplani is a resident of Mandsaur and is involved in supplying drugs to other parts of the country.
The network of Ruplani would be investigated by the STF as there are possibilities of his nexus with national and international hawala operators and along with this the supply of drugs across the country and in other countries. Several others are still traced as the nexus has to be revealed completely.
