Man booked for hurting religious sentiments on FB

Aperson operating Facebook in the name of Mithun Meena was booked by Ashoka Garden police for hurting religious sentiments of a community by posting derogatory comments over Facebook on Monday.

Police said that miscreant Mithun Meena was booked for posting offending sentiments against a community. A complaint was lodged by the victim Azam Khan of Nawab Colony.

In his complaint Azam stated that the comment over Facebook by user Mithun Meena is offending against a community and hurts religious sentiments. Meena posted comments targeting a community on Facebook after the Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were martyred.

The post went viral and several people of the community who found the post objectionable inciting religious sentiment reached Aishbagh police station and lodged a complaint against the person who had posted inciting post.

The police have registered a case under section 295 A of the IPC and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967 Act and have started search for the accused.

Police have started to investigate the user of the profile and in most of the cases it is found that fake profiles over social networking sites are created to post derogatory remarks. After the user would be traced the accused would be narrowed and arrested. 

The post created panic among few community member who gathered other members of the community and along with the victim a group reached police station and staged protest at the police station and later after the intervention police registered a case against the accused.
