Misrod police have booked a man on the charges of sexual assault and abetment to commit suicide to a 24-year-old woman. The deceased had committed suicide on September 29.
The accused Sujeet Chouhan sexually assaulted the deceased and harassed her when she asked for marriage.
The Investigating Officer SI Riddhi Sharma said that the deceased hailed from Baktara and was pursuing course of beautician. The accused also hails from the same area and was acquainted with the deceased. The accused lured her of marriage and developed relationship with her and sexually exploited her.
Later when deceased asked for marriage accused refused which shocked the victim. Depressed over the refusal and sexual exploitation she committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at her room in Misrod area.
After the preliminary investigation, police sent the body for post-mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC.
On Saturday after the investigation was completed case of sexual assault and abetment to commit suicide was registered against the accused. During the investigation family members alleged that deceased committed suicide due to harassment by the accused.
