A 30-year-old man died days after he was allegedly attacked by his neighbour with an axe following an argument over a land dispute within limits of Madhuban police station, SDPO Dumari Niraj Kumar said on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Bhuneshwar Yadav, a resident of Dembhabhakhari tola in Madhuban is reported to have a land dispute with one Bhagirath Turi, who is a native of Belwatongri tola. He was am auto driver, they said.
According to a senior police officer, Bhuneshwar’s wife Gudia Devi filed a case where she has stated that on Friday her neighbour started shouting at her and her husband over land disputes. Soon, a quarrel erupted between her husband and Bhagirath Turi (neighbour). Thereafter, Bhagirath Turi daily labourer, threatened Bhuneshwar Yadav and attacked him with an axe, police said. The victim was rushed to local hospital but doctors declared him brought dead, they said. Later, a case was registered and the accused was arrested.
